This painting is a 24" x 18" acrylics on canvas view of a hole on the Palmer Course at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV. It is still a work in progress, but should be done soon.
I am an engineer who happens to enjoy art. I didn't study art, though I did take art as an elective in high school. I enjoy water colors and have ventured into acrylics and oil paintings too. I mostly paint landscapes. I tell people that I could quit my job and become a starving artist, but I'm really not considering taking that step. For now, I'm content to take occasional classes, attend local workshops, and paint my weekly project, at least until the weather improves and I can golf again. I've got adult children and several grandchildren who are the joys of my life, along with my spouse of 40+ years. Just like in marriage, we never stop learning what is good for our relationship, so I hope to keep learning what makes for good...

How wonderful work!

I like the effects you used on the trees, esp in the background. That strong white- I can not tell what I am looking at. Ice? Arttutors.com is $15 a month. CHecking out their site now. As a member you can submit work for critiques. Not sure how how good the critiquers are. Put the double portrait in- made a number of changes since you saw it. Thanks for sharing!!!

Gary, this is a work in progress.
Gary Kirkpatrick
David not sure what you are planning next. I think you need to break up those curses some. Not sure what to use. A house(s) perhaps?
